A good presenter makes the difference between success or failure of your event. A presenter is the organizer, script writer, buffer, trusted partner, filter, information specialist, translator, care taker and conductor in one person. All this is necessary in order to fulfill a difficult task: to enable an enjoyable evening with an audience that wants to stay for hours.
Which skills does a good presenter need?
Organisation talent, authority and the ability to establish a connection to the author as well as the audience.
My goals are to:
-
structure the evening well, lead smoothly through the event and leave room for improvisation
-
have tangible goals and a good substance
-
ask questions that are enjoyable for the author as well as the audience
-
take the edge out of conflicts without incriminating
-
sum up topics in a precise and adequate way. If the audience is German but the author does only speak English this means a fast and exact translation into German.
-
creating a trustful atmosphere between the author and the interviewer. This way the audience really gets to know and love the author
